March 2020 Hop Shops acquires 12th location

March 1, 2020 – Valor Oil has acquired a BP station located at 6778 Goshen Rd Goshen, OH. The previous owner/operator, Ed Meyer, spent the last 20+ years developing the street corner into the gas station of choice for the Goshen community. The location boast a meticulously maintained convenience store along with a McDonalds and Dominos. Josh Emmick, President of Valor Oil, stated, “We are humbled to have the opportunity to serve the Goshen community. When the deal started Ed made it clear that he was searching for someone to maintain the culture he had built, and take care of his people. After a few conversations he let us know that Valor Oil was “the right fit” for this next step in his journey. He has built one of the cleanest and well maintained CSTORE’s we have seen, and we are thrilled to add his people to our family.”

Valor will take over operations on Monday March 2,2020. The community will notice the site will be switched from a brand of BP to Marathon. We believe Marathon will be a great fit for the community. Marathon is an Ohio based company with deep American roots. Along with the new colors and brand you will notice new fuel dispensers being installed. Valor will also be offering its cardlock and race fuel products at the site. One thing you will notice that won’t change are the smiling faces inside the store. Ed will of course be retiring but all current employees will stay on staff. Jo Ann Grubbs, Ed’s right hand for the past 20 years, will be stepping up as store manager.

“We want to thank Ed Meyer for selecting Valor for this opportunity. We hope our core values carry on the Eddie’s legacy in Goshen.”
